Not our first Rodeo….. our story began in 1960
1960 — Maple City Typewriter was formed by brothers Keith and Ed Koke, in a garage, with a limited vision of the future, but a burning desire to be the BEST technology and service provider in Kent County. Installations of cash registers, typewriters, mechanical adding machines, ‘wet duplicators’ and furniture and supplies, quickly became the mainstay of this growing young company.
1975 — Maple City became a Canon dealership. As technology evolved, toner based analog copiers and facsimile machines quickly became the cornerstone of almost every business. Maple City leveraged their strong community involvement, service, and Canon’s superior product performance, to become a “house-hold name” in the business community.
1976 — Standard Leasing in-house financing arm for leasing equipment was formed.
1988 — MicroAge computers was formed, as the first Apple Macintosh provider. Over time, this division grew to becoming a premier provider of IT products and professional services.
2005 — Maple City opened up in Windsor, Ontario, under the name “MC Business Solutions” and underwent a name change and re-branding.
2010 — MC Business Solutions opened up in Sarnia Ontario, acquiring the Canon customer base, and technical support team; now providing complete sales and services to the “Tri-county area” of South Western Ontario.
2019 —The passing of the founding partners. The company is now under the leadership of general manager and owner Jeff Dam, (son-in-law) and Controller Mike Tedford. Both Jeff and Mike have worked with the company for almost 30 years.
